    Mirijjawila Garden

A Dry Zone Botanical Garden in Yala
Embark on a unique experience in Yala at Mirijjawila Garden, Sri Lanka’s only dry zone botanical garden. Spread across acres of lush greens and blooms, this 300-acre garden in Yala is the island’s most extensive dry zone botanical garden. Mirijjawila is also a functioning research facility, conservatory, and nursery. The botanical garden is a testament to the conservation efforts and biodiversity preservation of the flora of both Sri Lanka and the world's dry zone region vegetation ex-situ.

Mirijjawila Botanical Garden offers couples an enchanting journey through a kaleidoscope of rare and endemic species, with sprawling gardens of beautiful blooms, ornamental plants, towering trees, and even a butterfly sanctuary garden. With over 12,000 trees and plants across the garden, the park’s beautiful layout has long tree-lined avenues, green lawns with flowering plants, creepers and climbers, medicinal and herbal plants, cactuses, several plant nurseries, and lakes laid across the sprawling park. With curated nature trails laid out all over the garden, it’s the perfect haven to get lost amidst this lush green paradise.
