Slow vs Express Train: If time is of the essence, the express train will ensure a quicker journey of around 4 hours. However, don’t overlook the more immersive experience of the slow train if time allows. You can experience small village train stations where you can mingle with the locals.

Since 2024, the Railway Department has introduced the Ella Odyssey, which stops at 8 to 10 famous locations for 2-3 minutes. This allows passengers to enjoy photography and take in a longer view of these iconic sites.
Train Schedules:
Several trains depart daily from Nanu Oya station (Nuwara Eliya) to Ella. The departures with First Class reserved seating are 09:30 AM,12:45 PM,03:00 PM and 03:55 PM.
